Connor is 5!

Happy Birthday Connor! 5 already, crazy! Sounds like such a big number, so many big things ahead.

A few things about Connor:

He is a very active boy. Loves to run, jump, climb, go hiking in the mountains, play in water, etc. He has serious "boy legs." You know, cuts and bruises up and down his shins. He would live outside if he could.

He is SUPER curious. It's not enough for him to know about things, he has to experience things (full hands-on exploration of how things work).

He continues to love cars and trucks.

He loves animals, especially cats. He also is way into bugs, and is constantly looking for creepy crawly things everywhere we go.

He loves movies; right now he's into Peter Pan, Cars, 101 Dalmations and the Little Mermaid.

He enjoys reading and is very interested in letters and words and sounding things out. He loves Go Dog Go and Big Dog, Little Dog (P.D. Eastman books).

He loves his Primary class.

When he is in a sweet mood, he melts my heart x a thousand. These days, he's been into some boundary-testing and can throw some attitude from time to time. Ahhh, the joys of growing up.

We love Connor to pieces. He's our firstborn, and teaches us new things continually. We started the day with a family dance party to the Birthday Song by the Beatles. For dinner we are taking him to Chuck E. Cheese. We've never been (how have we escaped this?), but he's been begging to go for some time, so tonight's the night. Then we're having his party the weekend after we move into the new house. I know his favorite gift of all will be his very own yard! I may never see the child again...

What birthday wouldn't be complete without a trip down memory lane:
