Surprise!

We met Cameron today! Quick re-cap: Cameron is our nephew, Kelley and Leo's son (Kelley is Brian's sister). Cameron and his twin sister Ressa were born last April at 25 weeks, weighing about 1 and a half pounds each (Ressa passed away after three weeks). Cameron spent about 4 months in the hospital, and now is doing great. As is typical with preemies, there are a number of restrictions on travel/going in public, etc., while they are infants. Kelley, Leo and Cameron live in Dallas, and this is Cameron's first trip to Denver!

They flew in today to surprise my MIL, Kathy, for her 60th birthday. They were able to achieve total surprise! Very fun. They will be here for a week. Cameron is such a cutie - his cheeks are crazy chubby! He's a happy, mellow little boy. He's been off of oxygen during the day for a while, but has to go back it while he's here because of the high altitude.

Here's a few pics from meeting him today. Lucas and Cameron, who are about 6 weeks apart:

The boy cousins:
Brian's parents have 2 large dogs, and Lucas was fascinated with them. I love the picture of the stare down:

The adults, from left to right: Kathy, Kelley, Grandma Howell (Brian's paternal grandmother) with the cute grandchildren:

We have some fun things planned while they're here! We love you Cameron!
