Farm outings

We enjoyed a couple of farm outings in May-

The first was a field trip with some friends' preschool co-op to Docheff Dairy farm, which was just as smelly as it sounds, yet fascinating. We saw all the different cow age groups, saw them milked, learned about their food, and even had the slimy and strange experience of letting a baby calf suck on our fingers! My little boys wouldn't do it, so I had to bravely volunteer.

I served as a chaperone for Lucas' kindergarten field trip to Anderson Farm, where they saw some animals, learned about the life cycle of a pumpkin, rode a tractor/wagon out to the field and planed a pumpkin, fed some highland cattle and a buffalo (Lucas' favorite animal! He was so excited) and had lunch. It was a gorgeous day with beautiful mountain views.
