Olympic Country Studies - Australia

Our third Olympic country study was Australia. We read these books-

We researched the Great Barrier Reef, and the kids made different aquatic creatures that live there and then created a diorama of the GBR, hanging the fish and other animals from fishing line. We learned about the Sydney Opera House (and they were excited to recognize it from Finding Nemo)-

 We watched videos of an aboriginal person playing the didgeridoo-

We learned about Uluru, in the Outback, the largest rock in the world-

We read this book about aboriginal people, and made our own aboriginal paintings-

For dinner, we threw some shrimp on the barbie (and I had to explain that we were not grilling Isabel's dolls); I made Pacific chicken, shrimp and kiwifruit kebobs-
