I brought cupcakes to lunch, as per her teacher's request, where her class did Happy Birthday to her in sign language.
That evening, we went as a family to nearby Anderson Farm, which has one of the biggest and best fall festivals around. We told Isabel she could bring three friends, and in addition Brian's parents and his sister Kelley and her family joined us. It was a chilly but clear and beautiful fall evening. We did the barrel train, pedal go karts, mine car train, hay ride to the pumpkin patch, mazes, and more. It was an incredibly fun night!
An unexpected development was one of Isabel's friends having a crush on Connor. She was holding his hand, leaning on him, it was rather interesting. Connor didn't seem to mind, and was a bit flattered, but wow. It was interesting.
We had packed a perfect fall picnic dinner of hot dogs, caramel apples, chips and pumpkin bars. It was interesting as the sun went down and all of the creepy characters came out and started roaming the farm. The kids were mostly amused but definitely kept a distance for the most part. The night ended with the kids having a big dance party to the blaring music, while they ran around the hay bale maze.
She declared it the best birthday ever.
We love our Isabel. She has a zest for life, enthusiasm and joy for many things. She loves music, singing, dancing, writing (she produces voluminous amounts of writing), reading, animals, going on adventures, school, being with her family and friends, activity days and life in general. She is at the top of her 2nd grade class, and tested again this year into gifted/talented classes at school. She has a lot of friends and is a very social girl. She also loves clothes, jewelry, shopping and just being a girl. Grateful she is ours.
